SKYLINE SKYLARK - A POEM BY A.H. SCOTT

~~~~SKYLINE SKYLARK~~~~
Skyline, skylark
Eggs and new day’s a’ crackin’, so we better start to rock
Out of bed, no more sleepy head
Coffee aroma fills the air, as fluffy slippers find their way to the kitchen table
Time’s a wastin’, sun’s peekin’ in
Shower n’ floss, hair brushed in a rush
Pucker with stain of sienna, as lashes get some scara’ upon ‘em
Don’t know what the day will hold forth, but leavin’ this popstand with hand on coffee cup
Skylark whistling to one another outside the front door
Bag lunch fixed and tossed in my bag
Skyline greets me with a smile anew
Thank goodness I brought a machine that can percolate a good brew
Blue sky, blue dress, happy smile on this lady’s face is her life’s compliment
