Tempered Tryst

Seated wearing only anticipation at her vanity, she saw his outline in the doorway
His mind was refreshed and flesh cleansed from showering away that hectic day
Atomizer compressed with ease
Evelina senses the tease
Ribbon of Samsara against hip and breast
Aria of the little sparrow muses on Victrola nearby, as needle in groove reaches conquest
Alistair nodded his head in ode to approve
Her cheeks beamed, both above and below
Alistair makes a sly move, as she knows he has nothing to prove
Solo violinist with the London Philharmonic he was
Hands of this craftsman made being touched by him a must
Evelina motioned left hand upon his on her shoulder
She asked, “Will we be late if we hesitate?”
He answered with a kiss to her hand, “Timing’s perfect, because I’m the star of that band”.
Body soft and hair of raven’s feather, she stood up from that red velvet chair
Nimble fingers of his danced on skin so fair
Evelina’s arms listlessly hung around his neck
If he was the star performer, she would be giving him the best he could get
Her legs curled around his robed body
She knew him being nude wouldn’t be tardy
Robe fell to the floor as he desired to have her more and more and more
Beneath Tiffany lamplight, came a bold entanglement of might
Thrusting…accepting….mutual percepting
Gold-threaded bedding met disarray with every muscle they moved
Chimes from the Cathedral blocks away clanged half a dozen times
Evelina was the meringue to his lemon, as she rested atop of Alistair with ease
This was a comfort each had with one another
Another squeeze of atomizer freshened this flourished rose for their departure
Stage door was where they kissed once more
On the marquee were upcoming artists for both their eyes to see
Not Jagger, nor Plant, or even Bowie was he
But, boy oh boy, Alistair filled Evelina with girlish excitement
“But, you don’t play rock”, Evelina commented
Alistair played coy, “Uh-uh, baby…I play Bach”
Stage door closed and she took her seat in row three
Primary strains of Bach began, as the curtain rose and lights dimmed
For a certain woman who smiled, her heart was filled with glee
Evellina and Alistair encountered a tempered tryst in London’s East End in flat number three

HUBRIS TAKES A POWDER - A QUOTE BY A.H. SCOTT

"Hubris is hell's fragrance. Empires that have crumbled have used it as an essence to spray upon the peaks and valleys of their lands. Bigger and better, the Empire beats its chest with a carnivorous chant. Alas, the only being that smiles in the end is Lucifer. For he is knows mankind's self destruction is always at hand. Hubris is arrogance's aroma. Whence we can sniff the air and its acrid scent scorches our nostrils and lungs; it will be too late for us all. Hell be damned! Hubris be gone! Never to set upon this Empire which seems so strong! Empires crumble. History always repeats itself.." - A.H. Scott 1/21/12

A few words about the phenomenal Tony Ward from yours truly, A.H. Scott:

"Darkroom develops art which is timeless. Even when flesh and bone become ash, it reflects on who Tony Ward is. Rebel yell is serenity's bliss. Got many years of living to go. Man of many talents has miles of teaching and observing the human flow. Those small minds may wonder if the old man can keep up. When Mr. Ward whips out that big lens of his, he shuts the nonbelievers up..." - A.H. Scott

Legendary lion of the lens Tony Ward and provocatress of prose A.H. Scott have teamed up in a revelatory collaboration of image and words.

COLLABORATIONS: "LETTERS TO MY BULLY - THE ANTHOLOGY"

Image may contain: 1 person, closeup and text

"I am proud to be a contributor to this anthology. "Letters To My Bully" sheds light on the soul crushing issue of bullying. It doesn't sugar coat the problem. It faces it head on. And, provides a pathway for all who are, or have been bullied in life. Glover Lane Press and Azaan Kamau have gathered together contributors from all walks of life to show that we all have constructed "Letters To My Bully" in some ways along our lives. This book is just the culmination of life's outpouring of emotion and reflection. Stand UP To Bullying! Stand UP For YOU..!" - A.H. Scott

********************

Letters to My Bully is a thought-provoking collection of letters, poetry and essays written by youth, women, men, seniors and celebrities that will change the way this country views survivors forever...

*******************

Why a Letter to a Bully?

Every day in America, 160,000 students miss school due to bullying. According to reports by the Secret Service, two-thirds of school shootings are motivated by bullying. A whopping 43% of middle school children avoid the bathroom and locker rooms at all costs due to certainty of being bullied. And finally, the number one reason for suicides among youth ages 11-16 is bullying.

Glover Lane Press’ historical anthology, Letters to My Bully, not only gives victims of bullying an outlet to express the impact of bullying in their lives, contributors speak on solutions to the problem and offer healing advice to survivors. Letters to My Bully is a thought-provoking collection of letters, poetry and essays written by youth, women, men, seniors and celebrities that will change the way this country views survivors forever.

“As a survivor of bullying, I wanted to do a project that would not only help victims heal but would help to educate the masses on how serious this issue is. I define bullying as abuse, mistreatment, torment and harassment by peers, classmates, neighbors, the congregation, siblings, parents, boyfriend, your spouse, etc. This is an issue that America must make a priority as it relates to social justice and peace movements.” Says Glover Lane Press publisher, Azaan Kamau

“Letters to My Bully is an excellent tool for ministers, teachers, community leaders, parents, teens and youth to educate those around them about the dangers of bullying. Until everybody, everywhere is addressing this issue in some form, it will continue to plague our great nation.” Says Ifalade Ta'Shia Asanti

Letters to My Bully includes contributions by Actor, Robert LaSardo and Huffington Post writer, Kergan Edwards-Stout, as well as more than a dozen other best-selling, nationally celebrated writers. There are also pieces written by child survivors and senior citizens.

Letters to My Bully is proud to be supported by national Peace Partners who have committed to ensuring the message of this anthology will reach the masses.

TO THOSE WHO SAID NEVER - A POEM BY A.H. SCOTT

Image result for flower through concrete

To Those Who Said Never

To those who said never
I say have a grain of faith
To those who said faith is nowhere to be found
I say faith is in the sky and on the ground
From the blues of various hues and flora of heaven's rainbow alive
To those who said never
I say to them , wait for the change in the weather
To those who said never about changes to come
I say look to the sky and see the smiling sun...

PERMEATION - A POEM BY A.H. SCOTT

PERMEATION

Pen to paper
Lips of burgeoning lovers connect with lightness of milk thistle
Nib of silver does a figure eight
Coral fingernails glide against chiseled jaw
Wisp of wind rattles loose leaf on desk
Palm with hint of pressure tempts backbone
Limbs listlessly resemble branches reclaiming memory
Twist of twig, root widens
Small sounds trek from her lips
Metered motion of his shifting hips
Paragraph pulsates
Sheet of white envelops instrument
Exertion of awakening transformed like spring peppering last flakes of snowfall
What was before is just was
What is now is just is
As for next, that shall be what comes when we do
Ensuing essence exclaims in our chapter’s outpouring

WRITE ON!!

If you're happy - WRITE ON
If you're sad - WRITE ON
If tears of fear are rolling down your cheeks - WRITE ON
If tears of joy are making your spirits soar - WRITE ON
If backs are turning away from you - WRITE ON
If opportunities are starting brand new - WRITE ON
If a smile is sticking around for a while - WRITE ON
If a frown is spinning your world down - WRITE ON
If a hug is nowhere near - WRITE ON
If a kiss on the cheek is at it's peak - WRITE ON
If you want to free yourself from your past woes - WRITE ON
If something new is right before your nose - WRITE ON
If knots are in your stomach into venturing into the unknown - WRITE ON
If you feel the fire in your gut to take on the world - WRITE ON
If the Devil is grinding ya' down - WRITE ON
If the angels are lifting ya' higher - WRITE ON
If any of these words I wrote you may agree, then I pump a fist in solidarity
And, from me to thee, two words come freely - RIGHT ON!!!!

ZIP - A POEM BY A.H. SCOTT

No photo description available.

ZIP

Zip my lip and tell no one the trick

Zip my dress up and we walk out the door

Zippity-doo-dah-zippity-eh—my oh my what a wonderful way

Zipping down the avenue to that little cafe we used to go to

Zip and sip from that straw of vanilla and cool mint milkshake

Zipping up can be fun

But, nothing is better than unzipping for you….my sexy dove….

BIRTH'S BURDEN - A POEM BY A.H. SCOTT

No photo description available.

BIRTH'S BURDEN

....Key to salvation is marked with tears, reflection and rebirth of the soul......

Unlock redemption with actions and resurrection at dawn........

.........CHOICE is yours

Shackles are not only those of steel clasped around wrists...

..........CUFFS can consist of indifference, ignorance and self destruction......

KEY is in your HANDS ..........

.........Use your MIND......

CRUSH the chains of servitude.......

...........LIBERATE bitterness from your SOUL

LUCIFER's lash has already taken too much of a toll..

.....Out of the ashes of birth's burden - arrow RISING!!!

"The journey of life can sometimes seem like a boat on the water. There are ripples of distress and unease at moments along the way. But, if you are lucky enough to live a long life, there are moments when the stillness of the water fills your heart & soul with tranquility. And, your boat gets to just float along with glee" - A.H.. Scott 2/15/12

GLOW ON! - A QUOTE BY A.H. SCOTT

"No matter how far your feet take you, you can't run away from your own insecurities. You must stand firm and face them down. Almost like a scene out of High Noon; when that clock of certainty strikes noon, be ready to be bold. Oh, of course the shakiness in your knees is making you slightly wobble while standing in place. But, don't let those who critique see you sweat. Noon's coming, will you be sweating? Or, just have the glow of confidence about you? Hmm, I think I'll glow for now..LOL.." - A.H. Scott 2/5/12

G R A V I T A S - A QUOTE BY A.H. SCOTT

"Freedom of speech isn't simply a bumper sticker which sparkles under sun's rays or when mud splashes upon it on a rainy day. It's granite of gravitas which is formulated via words, images, sounds or a melange of all variances of the human experience." - A.H. Scott 1/17/13

TICK TOCK - A QUOTE BY A.H. SCOTT

"Simple things become boring very quickly. Complex things always leave you guessing. Now, that's what keeps your blood racing through your veins. Tick tock, tick tock. And, the brain cells are going pop, pop, pop. To be intrigued by something new is a great way to keep you on your toes. Or, in some cases, tapping heels against a dance floor. Tick tock, let's rock." - A.H. Scott 1/18/12

DIMENSIONS OF DESIRE - "CAUGHT IN THE MOMENT: OPUS" BY A.H. SCOTT

No photo description available.

"Caught In The Moment: Opus" is a three-tiered exploration of the dimensions of arousal.

First Act - "Caught In The Moment (Dawning)" is about being young and all that goes with it.

Second Act - "Caught In The Moment (Dusk)" is about the ascendancy of age and accepting the mantle of one's own maturity.

Third Act - "Caught In The Moment (Nocturne)" is from a jaded perspective of a couple having done everything sexually possible and not being bound by society's morays.

C O Z Y - A QUOTE BY A.H. SCOTT

"Just when you think the world is a cold place, always remember a warm smile will come along. It might not be smiling person you'd expected, but a smile is a smile is a smile. Take it. Embrace it. And, smile your way through this cold, cold world. Enough warm smiles and maybe you can brighten up someone else's day.." - A.H. Scott 1/21/12

SUMMER'S REST - A POEM BY A.H. SCOTT

Image may contain: one or more people

Summer's Rest

Summer's rest
Melody forever lingers on
Even as I write this poem, my toes are tapping to unforgettable beats
Thinking back to younger days, when I could twirl in a black dress
Oh, we all remember those tunes of rhythm and dances under colored lights
And, to hear Donna's voice was such a thrilling delight
Heaven now knows it has another angel in the choir
Sophisticated singer with a chocolate drizzled desire on wax
Treat her right, for she worked hard for the money
Unconditionally we loved Ms. Summer
Vocal violet with honey soaked chords of heavenly thunder
It was your voice that was a wonder
Gardenia placed beneath spotlight on center stage
Never forgotten as the decades have turned the page and we've all aged
So, farewell to a talent which put our hearts and souls in a joyous trance
Rest in peace, Donna Summer and I personally want to thank you for the grandest dance
