To Seek Or Not To Seek - An A.H. Scott Poem

To Seek or Not To Seek -

Truth can be told before we are old
Truth can be reflected in the eyes of a child
Truth can express a forgiving tone
Truth can be poisoned by a sinister tongue
Truth can be forgotten if not pursued with doubt
Truth has a way of coming to light
Truth is maturity’s plight
Truth can be tart as timidity’s tears
Truth can be a dulcet relief
Truth can be that which seems obscured by belief
Take those five letters and apprehend what they are
Truth can be a total redemptive unification towards harmony
Truth can be a tattered rancid ugliness thrusting hubris
It is your choice on how you perceive what truth is
Truth is an elusive essence which is sought or scowled
Are you a seeker?
Or just an empty vessel on the conveyor belt of complicity
Truth – what a concept!
